Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 2:1–5
In today’s passage, Apostle Paul reminds the Corinthians how he first came to them, not with polished speech, impressive rhetoric, or human brilliance, but with a simple message: Jesus Christ and Him crucified. The power of the gospel does not rest on the skill of the messenger but on the Spirit who works through the message.
Here are three truths from today’s passage:

God works through humble dependence. Paul does not hide his limitations. He embraces them. Our weakness is not a barrier to God’s work. It is rather the very place where God’s power could be seen clearly. God often does His deepest work through hearts that lean on Him rather than on themselves.

The message of Christ is the center of our witness. Paul made a deliberate choice to keep the gospel central. He refused to let style overshadow substance. The cross is not one topic among many; it was the heartbeat of Christian ministry. Our lives and words carry power when Christ remains at the center.

True spiritual power comes from the Spirit, not human skill. Paul wanted the Corinthians faith to rest on God, not on him. The Spirit is the One who opens hearts, convicts, strengthens, and saves. Human eloquence may impress, but only the Spirit transforms. When we rely on Him, our weakness becomes a platform for His strength.
Today’s passage invites us to embrace simplicity, humility, and dependence on God. We do not need to be impressive for God to use us. We simply need to keep Christ at the center and trust the Spirit to do what only He can do.
