Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:18–25
In today’s passage, Apostle Paul draws a sharp and beautiful contrast between the wisdom of the world and the wisdom of God. To some, the message of the cross appears weak, foolish, or unnecessary. But to those who are being saved, it is the very power of God. Paul wants the Corinthians church to see that God’s wisdom does not follow human patterns. The cross stands at the center of the Christian life as the place where God’s power is revealed most clearly.
Here are three truths from today’s passage:

The cross reveals God’s power in unexpected ways. The cross does not fit human categories. It looks like defeat and weakness. Yet it is victory. It is strength. God’s power is not always loud or impressive by human standards. Sometimes it looks like surrender, sacrifice, and love poured out.

God overturns human wisdom. God is not impressed by human brilliance. The gospel does not rest on intellectual achievement or philosophical skill. God’s wisdom humbles the proud and lifts the humble. He chooses what seems small to accomplish what is great.

Christ is the wisdom and power of God. The cross of Christ is God’s chosen way of saving the world. In Christ, God’s wisdom takes on flesh. His power is revealed through sacrifice. What the world calls foolish, God calls salvation.
Today’s passage invites us to embrace the wisdom of the cross. We do not measure God’s work by human standards. We do not judge His power by outward strength. We look to Christ, and we find in Him the wisdom that leads to life.
Pray with me: Dear Lord, please teach me to trust the wisdom of the cross. Let Christ be my wisdom, my power, and my confidence in every season.
