Scripture Reading: Hebrews 12:12–17

Today’s passage urges us to stay focused as we continue the journey of faith. These verses speak to people who are tired, discouraged, or tempted to drift. They remind us that the way we respond to hardship matters, not just for us, but for the people walking beside us. Faith is choosing peace when relationships become strained and choosing holiness when the world offers easier, more compromising paths.

Here are three truths from today’s passage

  1. God calls us to strengthen what has grown weak. Weariness is real, but we are called to rise again. We must not stay collapsed under the weight. But instead, we must stand, steady ourself and take the next step. And as we do, our steadiness becomes a blessing to others.

  2. God calls us to pursue peace and holiness with intention. Peace does not happen by accident and holiness does not grow without pursuit. God calls us to intentionally mend relationships, refuse bitterness and choose purity when compromise feels easier.

  3. A careless heart can quietly drift far from God. Bitterness starts as a seed. Neglect often feels small, harmless, understandable. God reminds us that these small beginnings can grow into something that harms not only us but the people around us. We are encouraged to stay awake, stay alert, and protect what God has entrusted to us.

Today’s passage invites us to take responsibility for our spiritual strength. It calls us to rise with renewed strength and to pursue peace and holiness with intention. We are encouraged to guard our hearts from anything that can take root and pull us away from God’s grace. God gives strength for the journey, but we must walk in it with intention.

Pray with me: Dear Lord, please strengthen my heart for the journey ahead. Help me pursue peace, walk in holiness, and guard my soul from bitterness.
