Scripture Reading: Hebrews 1:1–4
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being…” Hebrews 1:3
The book of Hebrews begins with a statement that lifts our eyes immediately to the supremacy of Christ. God has spoken, not through shadows, symbols, or distant echoes, but through His Son. Jesus is not simply a messenger; He is the message. He is the radiance of God’s glory. Everything God wants us to know about His heart, His character, and His nature is revealed perfectly in Jesus. The writer wants us to see Christ not as an accessory to our faith but as the center of everything.
Here are three truths from today’s passage

Jesus is God’s final and fullest revelation. God spoke through prophets, visions, and shadows, but all of those pointed forward to something greater. In Jesus, God speaks with clarity, fullness, and finality. If we want to know what God is like, we look at Jesus – His compassion, His authority, His purity, His love.

Jesus radiates the very glory of God. He is not a mirror reflecting God’s light; He is the source. The radiance of God’s glory shines through Him. When we behold Jesus, we behold the beauty, holiness, and majesty of God Himself. He is the exact imprint of God’s nature. Nothing in Him is inconsistent with who God is.

Jesus sustains all things and has completed our salvation. He upholds the universe by His powerful word. The same voice that calmed storms and called Lazarus from the grave sustains galaxies and governs history. His power holds creation together, and His sacrifice holds our salvation secure. And after providing purification for sins, He sat down because the work was finished.
This passage invites us to worship Jesus with fresh wonder. To see Him not only as our Savior, but as the radiance of God’s glory. He is the One who reveals God perfectly, sustains us continually, and saves us completely.
Pray with me: Dear Lord, please open my heart to see Jesus more clearly. Let His glory shape my worship and His nature shape my character.
