Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:7–16
“But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.” Ephesians 4:7
In today’s passage, Apostle Paul turns our attention to the beauty of our diversity. Unity does not mean sameness. Christ has given each believer a unique measure of grace, specific gifts, specific strengths, and specific assignments. These gifts are for the building up of the body. Paul wants us to see that spiritual maturity is a shared journey. We grow together, we strengthen one another, and we reflect Christ more clearly when each part does its work.
Here are three truths from today’s passage:

Christ gives each believer grace for their assignment. Paul says grace has been given “to each one.” No one is overlooked. No one is giftless. Christ Himself distributes gifts according to His wisdom and purpose. Whether visible or quiet, public or hidden, every gift matters. Every believer has a role in the health of the body.

Spiritual leaders equip the church. Paul lists apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers as servants who equip God’s people for works of service. Their role is to help believers grow, mature, and step into their God-given calling. Ministry is not the job of a few; it is the calling of the whole church.

Growth comes when every part does its work. Paul describes a body growing into the fullness of Christ, strong, steady, and no longer tossed by false teaching. This growth happens when each part is connected, healthy, and active. Love is the atmosphere in which the body grows. Truth is the anchor that keeps it steady. And Christ is the head who directs and sustains it.
This passage invites us to embrace the grace Christ has given us, to honor the gifts He has given others, and to commit ourselves to the growth of the whole body. When each part does its work, the church becomes a living expression of Christ’s fullness.
Pray with me: Dear Lord, thank You for the grace You have given me. Please help me use my gifts to build up Your body. Strengthen me to grow in maturity and to walk in love as I serve Your people.
