Scripture Reading: Ephesians 3:14–21
“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” Ephesians 3:16
In this passage, Apostle Paul kneels before the Father and prays one of the most powerful prayers in all of Scripture. His desire is not that believers would be strengthened on the inside, deep in the core of who they are. Paul knows that true transformation begins within, where only the Spirit can reach. He prays that believers would experience the love of Christ in a way that surpasses knowledge and fills them with the fullness of God.
Here are three truths from today’s passage:

The Spirit strengthens us from the inside out. Paul prays that God would strengthen us “in our inner being.” This is where battles are fought, where fears rise, where doubts whisper, and where faith is formed. God’s strength reshapes us from within. When the Spirit strengthens our inner being, we stand firm regardless of what surrounds us.

Christ dwells in hearts rooted in love. Paul prays that Christ would dwell in our hearts through faith. When our hearts are rooted and established in love, we become grounded, stable, and unshaken. Love becomes the soil where our faith grows and the foundation on which our lives stand.

God’s love is bigger than we can comprehend. Paul wants us to grasp the width, length, height, and depth of Christ’s love, a love too vast to fully understand, yet fully available to experience. This love fills the empty places, heals the wounded places, and strengthens the weary places. It is a love that surpasses knowledge and leads us into the fullness of God.
This passage invites us to open our hearts to the strengthening work of the Spirit, to let Christ dwell deeply within us, and to rest in a love that cannot be measured or exhausted. God is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to His power at work within us.
Pray with me: Dear Lord, please strengthen me in my inner being by Your Spirit. Let Christ dwell deeply in my heart, and help me grasp the fullness of Your love.
