Scripture Reading: Ephesians 3:1–13

In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ Ephesians 3:4

In this passage, Apostle Paul explains the calling God entrusted to him. God revealed to Paul a mystery hidden for generations, something no one could have discovered on their own. And now Paul wants believers to understand the beauty and weight of what God has done through Christ.

Here are three truths from today’s passage:

  1. The mystery of Christ is that all are included. Paul explains that the mystery revealed by the Spirit is this: through the gospel, Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members of one body, and sharers in the promise of Christ. God’s family is not defined by ethnicity, background, or history. In Christ, all who believe stand on equal ground. We are one body, one people, one inheritance.

  2. Grace empowers us for purpose. Paul says he became a servant of the gospel “by the gift of God’s grace” and “the working of His power.” He doesn’t boast in his calling; he marvels at it. Grace not only saves us, it sends us. It equips us. It gives us assignments we could never carry in our own strength. Paul’s life shows that God uses ordinary, humble people to reveal extraordinary truth.

  3. The church displays God’s wisdom to the world. God’s intent is that through the church, His manifold wisdom would be made known to all. The church is not a human invention; it is God’s eternal plan. When we walk in unity, love, and faith, we reveal God’s wisdom to the world around us and to the unseen realm above us.

This passage invites us to approach God with confidence, knowing that Christ has opened the way. It invites us to embrace our place in God’s family, to walk in the purpose grace has given us, and to remember that our lives are part of God’s eternal plan.
