Scripture Reading: Ephesians 1:1–10
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us... in Christ. Ephesians 1:3
Apostle Paul begins Ephesians with two simple words that carry the weight of the entire Christian life: in Christ. Those two words describe the truest thing about our identity, our security, our story, and our future. Before Paul tells us how to live, he tells us where we live: inside the grace, love, and purpose of Jesus.
Here are four truths from today’s passage

In Christ, we are chosen. Our life didn’t begin with our mistakes or our achievements. It began with God’s decision to love us. Before time existed, God set His affection on us. Being “in Christ” means our identity is not fragile. It is rooted in eternity.

In Christ, we are adopted. God didn’t tolerate us into His family. He welcomed us with joy. Adoption means belonging. It means we are not an outsider trying to earn acceptance. We are sons and daughters, fully received and fully loved.

In Christ, we are redeemed. Our past no longer defines us. Christ’s sacrifice has rewritten our story. Redemption means the stains we thought were permanent have been washed away. Forgiveness isn’t a theory; it’s the air you breathe now.

In Christ, we are included in God’s eternal plan. God is weaving a story that stretches across heaven and earth, and somehow, we are part of it. Our life is not random. It is connected to God’s purpose, God’s timing, and God’s glory.
This passage invites us to rest, not in your performance, but in your position. We are in Christ, held in His grace, rooted in His love and secure in His purpose. And nothing in heaven or on earth can change that. This is our destiny once we come to know Jesus. It is the position the blood of Jesus bought for us. Do you know Jesus yet?
