Year-End Special
Scripture Reading: Psalm 100
“For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100:5
As the year comes to a close, Psalm 100 feels like a gentle invitation to pause and back with a thankful heart. This psalm is joyful because it remembers who God has been. And when we look back on our own year, we begin to see the same thing: a trail of quiet mercies, steady provision, and a God who never once stepped away.

Gratitude grows when we remember who God is. Joy doesn’t come from a perfect year. It comes from a faithful God. Even in the moments that stretched us, confused us, or humbled us, God remained good. He remained nearby. Gratitude begins when we slow down long enough to see His fingerprints on the days we rushed through.

We give thanks because we belong to Him. There’s something deeply comforting about ending the year with this truth: we are His. Not because we performed well. Not because we held everything together. We are His because He made us, loves us, and keeps us. That belonging has carried us through more than we realize.

Thanksgiving opens our hearts to worship. Gratitude is how we walk into God’s presence. It’s how we close the year – with open hands, not clenched fists. With remembrance, not regret. With praise, not pressure. Thanksgiving doesn’t erase the hard moments. It reminds us that God was present in every high and every low.
This psalm invites us to end the year with a full heart. To look back and see God’s goodness woven through the days we understood and the days we didn’t. His love didn’t run out. His faithfulness didn’t fade. And as we step into a new year, we do so with confidence in the God who has carried us this far and will carry us still.
Pray with me: Dear Lord, thank You for Your goodness this year. Thank You for the moments that lifted me and the moments that shaped me. Please teach me to end this year with gratitude and begin the next with trust.
