Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, ‘It is the Lord!’ John 21:7
After the resurrection, the disciples were still adjusting to life without Jesus physically leading them. Unsure of what to do, they returned to familiar routines. They went fishing through the night but caught nothing. In their weariness and emptiness, Jesus appeared on the shore. His presence turned failure into abundance and ordinary fellowship into sacred encounter.
Here are three things that happens when Jesus shows up: • He meets us in our ordinary routines. The disciples went back to fishing, returning to familiar work after the resurrection. In the midst of their ordinary labor, Jesus appeared on the shore. • He turns emptiness into abundance. After a night of catching nothing, Jesus directed them to cast the net on the right side. Suddenly, the net overflowed with fish. When Jesus shows up, lack becomes fullness. • He restores fellowship and joy. On the shore, Jesus prepared a fire with fish and bread, inviting them to breakfast. His presence brought warmth, fellowship, and reassurance.
Even today, Jesus invites us to experience His restoring presence in the midst of our daily lives, offering hope and renewal where we may feel discouraged or alone.
Pray with me: Lord Jesus, thank You for showing up in my life. Help me to recognize Your presence, trust Your word, and delight in Your fellowship daily.
