My kingdom is not of this world… The reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” John 18:36–37
As Jesus appears before Pilate, accused by the Jewish leaders, He displays a quiet authority that does not depend on the approval of the crowd or the frills of worldly power. In this moment, He reveals the nature of His kingship. Instead of seeking escape or compromise, He stands as the embodiment of divine truth, offering a vision of kingship shaped by love, sacrifice, and unwavering faithfulness.
Here are two truths about King Jesus: • His kingdom is not of this world. Jesus’ authority does not depend on earthly power or political systems. His reign is spiritual. His rule is not confined by time, geography, or the rise and fall of nations. • His mission is to testify to the truth. Jesus came to reveal the truth of God’s love, justice, and salvation. Everything Jesus did and said was a revelation of who God is and what God desires for humanity.
Jesus’ kingship is unlike any other. He does not reign by force but by truth. He does not rule by coercion but by love. To acknowledge Him as King is to surrender our lives to His authority.
Pray with me: Lord Jesus, You are the King! I surrender to Your reign, choose Your truth, and live as a citizen of Your kingdom. Rule in my heart and let my life testify to Your glory.
