Scripture Reading: John 4:23

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. John 4:23

Jesus spoke with a Samaritan woman who asked whether Jerusalem or Mount Gerazim was the proper place to worship God.

Jesus responded by explaining that true worship is not confined to a specific location or tradition. Instead, genuine worship arises from the heart, empowered by the Spirit and anchored in truth. He revealed that God desires worshipers who engage with Him authentically, regardless of external circumstances or geographic boundaries.

True worship is a product of a regenerated heart. It is man’s response to the Person and provisions of God. True worship is the natural response of a soul that has been redeemed from the bondage of sin and translated into the kingdom of God’s Son. True worship comes from the heart, empowered by the Holy Spirit and it’s genuinely focused and directed to God.

Such worship transcends rituals and outward expressions, reflecting a deep, personal relationship with God. It is marked by sincerity, humility, and a longing to honor the Father in every aspect of life. When believers approach God in this way, their worship becomes a transformative experience that draws them closer to His presence and purpose. This is the kind of worshippers the Father seeks.
